9/11 10 Year Memorial by Gaia

One of the finest builders in Yellow is Gaia, who has built a memorial park for the 10th anniversity of the 9/11 disaster. You can visit it at Yellow 911n 911e 0.1a 0. More on this feature in the next edition of the YG.

Yellow Builders Guild

Construction is beginning on the YBG -- there will be some interesting things happening there soon. Look out for some lessons and tips from top builders.

Cub Reporters in strife?

Just heard that Dora, one of the lead singers in the Cub Reporters band, just up and left in the middle of a set. It seems that she has taken up with Jake, one of the biker bears, and they haven't been seen since. So girls, here is the chance for you to get into one of Yellow's top bands...

New cubs soon?

Well, it can't be long now until Chloe delivers. We are all waiting the news for some new cubs to grace the world. Send me any suggested names for the little ones and I'll be sure to pass them onto Chloe and Rufus.

Who are the AVs?

We all use the AVs in the Yellow object yard. And I wondered, who are they exactly? Whose faces were used? Does anyone want to own up? And for those who are interested in VR immortality, how do you get your own visage on an AV? These questions need answers...

ActiveWorlds Forums

Did you know that ActiveWorlds has an excellent set of forums? You can visit them by clicking on the URL that appears in the chat box when you first come to Yellow. Be sure to register for the forums. That way you can post and read, rather than just read what others are doing. And be sure to check out the Communities section there; Yellow is one of the featured world communities. It's a very good place to post materials -- other than in the Yellow Gazette, of course!

We want to thank each and everyone who participated and also thank the people from PKToons for their help at the party, as well as the Activeworlds staff for working with us to help create this event. Go to the Builds of the Month page to see the results of the contest.

Ingredients

1 (18.25-ounce) box strawberry cake mix
   3 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
   2 tablespoons cognac
   1/4 cup sugar
   1 cup heavy cream
   1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
   1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (3-ounce) package strawberry flavored gelatin (recommended: Jell-O)
   Fresh strawberries, for garnish

Directions

Follow cake directions as written on cake mix box.
Remove from oven and cool cake completely. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine strawberries, cognac and sugar. Let macerate 20 minutes. Invert and release cake onto a decorative platter. Whip cream with confectioners' sugar and vanilla at medium-high speed until it reaches stiff peaks. Do not over whip.

Mix gelatin as directed on box. Refrigerate gelatin mix but do not let it harden, it should cool to a tick liquid consistency.

Using a straw, poke holes all over the cake. Pour gelatin into holes and spread over the top of the cake.

Spread layer of macerated strawberries on top of cake. Spread layer of whipped cream on top of the strawberries, making pretty swirls and ripples. Garnish with fresh strawberries. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
